William M. Lowe, Jr.
Chief Executive Officer and Director
William M. Lowe, Jr., Chief Executive Officer and Director, was named such in December 2018. Mr. Lowe joined the Corporation in July 2008 as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Lowe was previously the Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Unifi, Inc., a producer and processor of textured synthetic yarns from January 2004 to October 2007. Prior to holding that position, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Metaldyne, an automotive components manufacturer. He also held various financial management positions with ArvinMeritor, Inc., a premier global supplier of integrated automotive components. He received his B.S. degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Tri-State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Ohio.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Thompson is an experienced public company CFO with deep global experience across several industries including electronics, chemicals, building products, medical equipment, manufacturing, technology software and services. He has 25 years of experience engaging to enhance shareholder value through strategy development, acquisition and divestiture initiatives, capital structure optimization and operational improvements while maintaining a focus on pragmatic risk management, prudent financial controls and fiscal discipline. From January 2008 to October 2016 Mr. Thompson served as EVP and CFO of Axiall Corporation, a $5 billion chemical manufacturer. Mr. Thompson has also served as SVP and CFO of Invacare Corporation, a $1.6 billion global leader in the manufacture and distribution of home and long-term care medical products, and SVP, CFO and Controller of Sensormatic Electronics Corporation, a $1.1 billion global manufacturer of electronic security products for retail loss prevention.
Executive Vice President, Solid Capacitor Business Group
Chuck Meeks, Jr., Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, joined KEMET in December 1983 and has served in various manufacturing and organizational leadership roles in the company which includes three of KEMET’s major business groups (Tantalum, Ceramics, and Film and Electrolytic). In his current position, Chuck has global responsibility for all aspects of the KEMET operational functions which includes the four KEMET major business groups (Tantalum, Ceramics Film and Electrolytics, and Magnetics, Sensors and Actuators), Advance Technology, and Quality and Compliance. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Clemson University.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary
James Assaf, Senior Vice President - General Counsel and Secretary, joined KEMET in March 2008. Prior to joining KEMET, Mr. Assaf served as General Manager for InkSure Inc., a start-up seller of product authentication solutions. He had also previously held several positions with Sensormatic Electronics Corporation, including Associate General Counsel and Director of Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions. Mr. Assaf received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyon College and his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
Senior Vice President - Chief of Staff, Quality & Chief Compliance Officer
Susan B. Barkal, Senior Vice President - Chief of Staff, Quality and Chief Compliance Officer, has served as Vice President of Quality and Chief Compliance Officer since December 2008. Prior to joining KEMET, Susan previously worked at Nalco Chemical Company as a Sales Engineer and at General Dynamics as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. She joined KEMET in November 1999, and has served as Quality Manager for the Tantalum Business Group, Technical Product Manager for all Tantalum product lines and Director of Tantalum Product Management. Susan received her BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University and her MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic University.
Senior Vice President - Chief Digital Officer
As co-founder of IntelliData, Mr. Herring joined KEMET with its acquisition in April 2015. KEMET bought IntelliData with the aim of bringing digital technologies and expertise in-house. IntelliData has specific experience to bear on developing solutions unique to the passive component market.
Mr. Herring spent nine years at Arrow Electronics covering several roles such as Corporate Marketing Manager, Segment Marketing Manager, Director Mid-Atlantic States and Director of Product Management. He also spent nine years at Projections Unlimited Inc. in the roles of Inside Sales Manager, Field Sales Manager, Regional Manager/General Manager in Silicon Valley.
Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Phil Lessner, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, joined KEMET in 1996 as a Technical Associate in the Tantalum Technology Group. He has held several positions of increased responsibility in the Technology and Product Management areas, including Senior Technical Associate, Director of Tantalum Technology, Director of Technical Marketing Services, and Vice President of Tantalum Technology prior to the appointment to his current position in February 2013. Dr. Lessner received a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Cooper Union.
Senior Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing
Claudio Lollini, Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, was named such in July 2015. Claudio joined Arcotronics as a Manager - Sales, Taiwan in 2005 and became a part of the KEMET team during the acquisition in 2007. Since 2005, he has been an integral part of the Asia Sales Team and has provided significant contributions and customer relationships in the Asian market. During his tenure with the company, Claudio has held positions of increasing responsibility in Sales and Product Management. Claudio received his BS degree in Engineering Management from the University of Bologna and obtained his MBA at the Kellogg-HKUST Executive Program. He is a 2011 graduate of the KEMET Leadership Forum.
Senior Vice President - Film & Electrolytic Business Group
Andreas Meier, Senior Vice President - Film & Electrolytic Business Group, was named such in May 2016. Mr. Meier joined KEMET in January 1998. He most recently served as Vice President, Sales - EMEA. Mr. Meier holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Paderborn in Germany and has strong experience in the electronics, automotive and telecommunications industries.
Daniel F. Persico
Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions
Dr. Persico joined KEMET in 1997 as Director of Tantalum Technology and held positions of increasing responsibility in Business Development. He served as KEMET Vice President of Strategic Marketing, and was appointed Vice President of Sales at TOKIN in 2013. Previously, Dr. Persico served as Director of Technology at Cabot Corporation, Manager of Global Sales and Marketing at Furon and in various roles with DuPont Corporation. He was named to his current position in July 2017 and holds Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas, Austin.
Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer
Stefano Vetralla, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer since May 2014, joined KEMET in May 2008 as Director - Human Resources, Film and Electrolytic Business Group. In 2011 he took over additional responsibilities for supporting Global Sales, Ceramic and Tantalum Business Groups. He was promoted to Vice President in November 2012 when he became responsible for all KEMET international operations. Previous to KEMET, he held Human Resources positions of increasing international responsibilities in companies such as HP, 3COM, Telecom and Telindus/Belgacom. His Bachelor's degree in Law is from the State University of Milan. He was a Club of Excellence winner in 2010 and is a graduate of the KEMET Leadership Forum 2011.
Executive Vice President Solid Capacitor Group
Bob Willoughby, Executive Vice President Solid Capacitor Group, leads both of KEMET’s Tantalum and Ceramic Business Units. He joined KEMET in 1985 and has served in various manufacturing and organizational leadership roles in the company including Diagnostic Engineering Technician, Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, Group Leader, Manager and Director of Process Engineering. He became Director and then Vice President of Operations as well as Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain and Senior Vice President – Film and Electrolytic Business Group. In July 2017, he was named Senior Vice President, Ceramic Business Group. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Clemson University and is a 2007 graduate of the KEMET Leadership Forum.

Cory Riedl, Senior Vice President, Ceramic Business Unit, joined KEMET in September 2001 and has held multiple roles of increasing responsibility within the Ceramic business which includes Process Engineering Manager, Quality Director, and Senior Director, Ceramic Operations and Quality. In July 2017, he was promoted to Vice President, Ceramic Operations. In addition, he is a graduate of the first KEMET Leadership Forum Class of 2007. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering from Rutgers University.

Masahiro Asakawa joined NEC in 1989, moved to NEC-TOKIN in 2002, and has held multiple positions with increasing responsibility in the Sales Department. He spent 10 years in Taiwan from 2006 to 2015 as Managing Director and was promoted to VP of Sales of Japan and & Korea in 2018. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Hosei University in Japan and will be a 2019 graduate of the KEMET Leadership Forum.
Vice President, Global Distribution
Dr. Johnny Boan, Vice President, Global Distribution has been a member of the Leadership Team since June 2012. A KEMET employee since 1980, he has held positions in Operations, Quality, Product Management, Acquisitions, Integration, Sales and Marketing. Johnny holds a BS in Chemistry from Presbyterian College, an AS from Greenville Technical College, a MBA from University of Texas-Brownsville, and a MS from Eastern Michigan University. In addition, Johnny is a graduate of the first KEMET Leadership Forum class of 2007.
Vice President, Sales - EMEA
Mr. Hammer has 20+ years of experience in selling passive components, electromechanical components as well as semiconductors, to demanding international customers in automotive, industrial, telecommunication and consumer markets. He has a track record of managing dynamic sales organizations (Texas Instruments, Silicon Laboratories, WBC GmbH) and brings a proven ability to create demand and support the growth of business.
Mr. Hammer was most recently with Fairchild Semiconductor, where he held the position of Vice President EMEA Sales and Applications. He holds a degree in Economical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences of Heilbronn (Germany).
Vice President, Sales - Americas
Monica Highfill, Vice President - Sales, Americas, joined KEMET in 2008, most recently as Director - Sales, Americas West. Prior to that, she was a Sales executive with Force Electronics, Avnet and Time Electronics. Monica has a Bachelor's degree in Management from Saint Mary's College of California and an MBA from Santa Clara University. She is a 2011 graduate of the KEMET Leadership Forum.
Fumihiro (Hiro) Katakura
Mr. Katakura joined NEC in 1982 and held various positions for NEC Corporation of America in the International Purchasing Division and Planning Network in Oregon and Texas. He was appointed Head of Corporate Strategy for NEC TOKIN in 2011 and promoted to Vice President of Global Supply Chain at KEMET in July 2017. In 2018, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Magnetics, Sensors and Actuators. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics from Keio University.
Masayuki (Max) Nakamura
Vice President, Japan & APAC Controller
Mr. Nakamura joined TOKIN in 1986 and TOKIN America Inc. in 1991. He has held various positions within the company in Corporate Accounting, and as Manager of Information Systems working on the SAP project from 1997 to 2006. Mr. Nakamura was appointed Head of Accounting and Finance in 2013 and promoted to his current position in July 2017. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Meiji University.
Vice President & Corporate Controller
Mr. Raynor joined KEMET in 2007 and has held the positions of Assistant Corporate Controller and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. He was named to his current position in July 2017. Prior to joining KEMET, Mr. Raynor held various positions in finance including auditing, financial analyst, plant controller, controller and CFO. Mike graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Economics and Master's in Accounting. He received his CPA from North Carolina.
Vice President, Marketing & Digital Engagement
Fernando Spada, Vice President, Marketing & Digital Engagement, joined KEMET in 1996 and has held multiple positions with increasing responsibility in Operation Business Groups and Distribution since joining the company. He has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electromechanical Engineering, a Master's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Control and Robotics, as well as an EMBA from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). In addition, he is a graduate of the first KEMET Leadership Forum Class of 2007. Formerly Vice President of Product Marketing for the Tantalum Business Group, Fernando has been a member of the Leadership Team since August 2015.

Yang Zhang, Vice President, Sales - Asia, was named such in May 2016. Mr. Zhang joined KEMET in 2007 and most recently served as Managing Director of Asia Sales. He is a graduate of Tongji University in Shanghai with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, and is a graduate of the 2011 KEMET Leadership Forum.
